A to Z Wineworks
Pale yellow gold the 2008 A to Z Pinot Gris has aromas of ripe citrus fruits, kiwi, lychee, wet stones, minerals, honeysuckle and nectarines. As the wine opens aromatics of spices, nutmeg, lime blossom & tangerine are revealed. The concentrated attack is pure and bright with wonderful lush fruit and mineral notes and is framed by ripe acidity giveing classic Oregon Pinot Gris proportions and lift to the richness. The finish rolls seamlessly off the mid-palate and goes on and on. The lasting impression of the wine is of great purity and intensity balanced by wonderful juiciness and succulence.
Wine Enthusiast
A to Z puts out a lot of Pinot Gris—more than 32,000 cases of this 2008—but the quality is consistently fine. Lovely spices wrap around fresh citrus and pear, then move into a smooth midpalate that lingers gracefully through a clean and very refreshing finish.
Score: 89. —Paul Gregutt, October 01, 2009.Wine Advocate
A to Z’s 2008 Pinot Gris offers plenty of fragrant pit fruit and melon aromas followed by a vibrant, flavorful, just off-dry wine that will match well with Northwest seafood.
